House to House Distribution in Aguadilla
Article by: David Restrepo
Yesterday morning we continued with house to house distribution in Aguadilla. We impacted 59 families by delivering cases of water and boxes of food. This neighborhood was particularly badly hit by the surge and the flooding.
It was terrible to see that because of this destruction, many homes were empty and put up for sale.
We lifted up the spirits of the people and they were very grateful and happy to see us.
The reason we did house to house is because there are a lot of elderly people in this community that cannot carry the stuff back to their homes themselves if we do a point of distribution.
We will continue to serve those in need in whichever capacity is best to meet their needs.
After the distribution we went back to the docks to empty out two shipping containers that came in full of supplies for a hospital in Humacao. The containers were full of water, clothes, food, some basic medical supplies, a few generators, etc. The other exciting thing was that they also shipped over about ten pallets full of solar panels and a bunch of batteries for said panels to power the hospital.
Very excited to see them put this into effect and make an effort to power the Hospital in a “green” manner. Thank you for the help Sponsors of Hope!
