Looking back at Texas
Article by: David Restrepo
In late August of 2017, four of us packed into a truck and raced to Texas to help.
The hurricane that impacted the region left it flooded, in many areas the flood reach 5 to 8 feet. It destroyed many homes and possessions.
We linked up with other volunteers and organization and began to work. During this time we distributed hundreds of gallons of water and food. We also helped families clear out their homes and place some of their belonging out to dry in order to try and save as much as possible.
After a week, it would be us who had to race back home in Florida to prepare for our own hurricane and deal with the damage that was to come.
